In the Lists page, you will find all lists associated with the channels you have access to. Lists allow you to send a Campaign to a large group of contacts all at once, such as a maintenance notification list. A contact can appear in multiple lists.
On this page you have the following options:
Overview Lists
In de list overview you can filter on two different types of lists:
-
Lists
Here you find all the lists that are created through the Add List option. -
Dynamic lists
Here you find the lists that are automatically created after you added a Label to a contact. All contacts with the same label will be placed in a dynamic list. When a label is removed from a contact, the contact will automatically be removed from the dynamic list.
When you click on a list, the chat screen will appear, showing all campaigns sent to that list in the past. If a contact responds to a campaign, their reply will not appear here but will create a new conversation in the Conversations module.
You will find some tabs on the right menu:
- The first tab is Profile. Here, you can see the name of the list, when it was created, and any notes associated with this list. You can add notes by clicking on the More option in the top-right corner and selecting Create note.
- The second tab is Media. Here, you can view all media shared with this list, such as a photo included in a WhatsApp message.
- The third tab is Contacts. This tab displays all contacts within the list. To manage a specific contact, open the contact menu, where you will find the option to Unsubscribe the contact from the list. If you wish to add a contact that is already in your Contacts, search for them using the search bar, open the contact menu, and select Subscribe.
Add List
You can import a list or create a new empty list, adding contacts manually. The contacts you add manually must be in the Contacts module.
Once a list is created, you can remove or add contacts manually. Dynamic lists are also available, where contacts are automatically added to the list after scanning a QR code or can unsubscribe, automatically removing them from the list. This can be configured using an Assistant.
To create a new list, click the Add button. A wizard will appear with the following steps:
Step 1 Details
Provide a name, reference, and remarks for internal use.
Step 2 Channel
Select the channel through which you want to send campaign messages. This can be SMS or WhatsApp, provided the channels are already added in the Channels module.
Step 3 Type
Choose how you want to add contacts to the list. If you choose CSV import, steps 4 and 5 will guide you through uploading a list of phone numbers. If you choose the Empty list option, you can add contacts manually to the list after it is created. In this case, steps 4 and 5 will be skipped.
Step 4 Settings
Here, you define the conditions your import file must meet.
- Existing Contacts: Choose Update to replace details of existing contacts or Ignore to keep them as they are.
- Delimiter: Select either Comma or Semicolon to match your file’s field separator.
- File Format: Make sure your import file is based on one of these formats:
Version 1
| phoneNumber | name | reference | custom field 1 | custom field 2 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 31612345678 | Eva | reference 1 | custom_value1 | custom_value2 |
| 31687654321 | Chris | reference 2 | custom_value1 | custom_value2 |
Version 2
| phoneNumber | custom field 1 | custom field 2 |
|---|---|---|
| 31612345678 | custom_value1 | custom_value2 |
| 31687654321 | custom_value1 | custom_value2 |
Assign fieldnames as column title
The first column should contain the phone number, but you are free to determine the custom fields. These are optional. However, each column must have a title. The column titles will automatically be added as custom fields to the contact.
Step 5 Upload
Upload your CSV file from your computer, or drag it into the designated window. If the file meets the specified settings, the contacts will display in a list, allowing you to review and remove specific entries before finalizing the import by clicking Import.
If your file does not meet the specified settings, you will see the following screen. For example if the list does not contain mobile numbers. Or the file format is not CSV. Change the settings or the file, click on Delete and try again to upload.
This is the result of a contact that is successfully imported with the Version 1 template:
Start New Campaign
You can start a new campaign from a list. Click on the list where you want to start the campaign, and then type your campaign message in the text field.
For WhatsApp campaigns, it is only possible to start from a template you created in Settings > Quick replies.
Make sure you WhatsApp message limit is sufficient
Meta requires you to build your message limit gradually. It is not possible to run a large-scale campaign on day one of adding your WhatsApp channel. It may take several days before they approve it. To check the message limit for the WhatsApp number you want to use, go to the Channels module.
Once you have typed your message or selected a template, click on the Schedule button. A pop-up will appear where you can choose whether to send the message immediately or schedule it for later. This allows you to prepare campaigns for future communication.
Once the campaign is send, you will find the details and analytics in your Outbox. When a contact replies, it will start a new 1-on-1 Conversation.
